Condominiums Make Great Starter Homes

The starter home is the first house that a couple buys when they get together. Starter homes are so named because they typically have small floor plans and allow for only one or two bedrooms. The overall size of starter homes can range anywhere from 800 to 1200 square feet in total space. There are houses that have three bedrooms and spread out over 1500 to 2000 square feet that can also be considered as starter homes but are built for families that have two or three children. The usual consideration for a starter home is one that is occupied by couples that are either expecting their first child or have a toddler in the house.

After having two children the starter home becomes too cramped or small for the family and they end up looking for a larger house to move into that can accommodate the needs of the growing family. The starter home is aptly named because it is just that, a first home that a couple can move into and begin their life together.

For couples that do not have the responsibility of caring for children, town homes and condominiums make wonderful starter homes as both people are involved with work or schooling and do not have time to spend maintaining a yard and outside upkeep that a house requires. With amenities like onsite workout centers and swimming pools and clubhouses condominiums and town houses offer upscale lifestyles for couples that are starting their lives together. With all of the common space being cared for by professional maintenance crews the association fees cover the costs of upkeep on a condo or town home and make a perfect place to starting point to begin a family.
